Once you get the WP E Commerce plugin activated you have a operational shopping cart. If you add a product you will be able to add it to the cart and actually complete the checkout. But until you have made a few decisions and activated a few buttons the plugin will not be very functional. There are a few settings that should be made even before you start entering any products or configuring the store.
