The increasing popularity of blogging has led to a proliferation of blog hosts on the web, with free blogging sites being especially popular with those who wish to have a platform to express their views to the world.

The top reason that bloggers choose to go with the larger free blogging sites is simple: reliability. By opting for a well known company to host your blog, you have the assurance that your blog will have solid uptime and will not disappear on you overnight.

A large free blogging site can provide the assurance that your blog isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. These larger free blogging sites also can offer a good uptime figure and generally, a rapid response to technical issues.

Many bloggers choose to sign up with the large, well established free blogging sites for one simple reason - they offer a high degree of reliability. When signing up with one of the industry giants, you can rest assured that your blog is unlikely to disappear overnight. These hosts will also typically have a very high uptime and respond quickly to technical problems. Despite this, a lot of bloggers decide instead to go with the smaller free blogging sites for a less tangible reason - rooting for the underdog.

After all, on the web even the smallest company can become a household name around the globe, as long as thy provide a high level of customer service.

Net Blogs for Good Reading

by Stuart Russell on November 14, 2008

by Mary R Stewart

I love reading and when I have some free time I go to the net and read various blogs. I love blogs that talk of traveling and places as I love traveling and have seen quite a few places myself. While I was visiting websites at random and reading good blogs, I came across an excellent website which gave a lot of information ranging from wonders of the world to scientific discoveries.

There has always been Seven Wonders of the World which has been changing with the times. The seven wonders of the medieval Ages are different from the seven wonders of the ancient world, which are again different from the seven wonders of the modern age. New groups of wonders included the underwater world and the industrial world. It was quite a revelation for me. Read the www.blogthebest.com to see for yourself what I am saying. You will not be disappointed, only impressed.

I almost felt a spray of water on my face as I dreamt of the Angel Falls, which is one of the wonders. I marveled at the engineering brains which cut short a very long sea route and allowed cargo ships to pass through from one part of the world to another in a relatively shorter time. I am talking of the Panama Canal which is really a world’s engineering wonder.

Can you imagine a shower changing color depending on the temperature of the water? Well, such a discovery is here for all of us to use. This signified the end of turning the shower and wondering whether the water would be too hot or too cold and then adjusting it to the required temperature. Isn’t this a grand idea of knowing in advance how hot or cold the water would be?

Did you know that a 2,500 years old Greek Ship has been discovered lying on the sea bed off the Sicilian coast Italy? Isn’t it amazing that the sea water has not spoilt this ship? That the artifacts can still be collected from this ship after all these years? It is certainly a well preserved wreck. Studies suggest that a storm might have created havoc and blown off this ship, tore a hole and sunk it to the bottom of the sea. What a pity! So many lives must have been lost.

A unique and really cool experience is on staying in the Ice Hotel which is created in the North of Sweden in the Arctic Circle region. This Ice Hotel is made out of the surrounding ice in the depth of winter and beautifully carved out. People come here and stay and probably have an ‘exhilarating’ experience. Come summer and it melts down into a puddle of water. The following year, history and story is repeated and a fresh new Ice Hotel is made for tourists to stay. Now, isn’t that great?

Chef Hugh Fernlay-Whittingstall in his show called ‘Hugh’s Chicken Run’ has changed the way of thinking of a whole lot of television watchers. In this show he has talked about chickens and their life. He has managed to convince thousands of people into buying free range eggs whose sales have risen by more than 50 % because of this show. He has done this to improve the quality of chickens and their welfare.

The above mentioned blogs are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more such interesting blogs on www.blogthebest.com that anyone who goes through it is bound to be impressed and waiting to read more.
